The Minesweepers: Towards a Landmine-free World is an international outdoor robotic competition on humanitarian demining that aims at motivating researchers and developers to work on innovative solutions for this serious problem.
Latin American countries have been suffering from landmines problem for many years. Colombia has the world’s second highest number of landmines. The governments of Colombia, Peru, Chile and Argentina are working hard to remove land mines.
During its journey to raise awareness of landmines problem, the local round of Minesweepers were held at many Latin American countries. In 2015 it was held as international competition in Chile.
